Love Bites: Dating in the Age of Bedbugs

This was a very interesting article talking about dating difficulties people are having in some major cities like New York. You would think the dating problem would be for personal issues or if a person has a virus like herpes but no. This is a different problem entering into the dating realm. It is called “bedbugs.” Can you believe bedbugs are causing problems on the dating lines?

There was a woman in New York who spoke to her partner of less than a month about the problem and people are breaking up with the other person for an infestation of bedbugs. Experimental genital herpes vaccine fails major clinical trial

This article spoke about the experimental vaccine Simplirix for failing a major clinical trial for this was to try and get the manufacturers approval this past week. GlaxoSmithKline won’t be making any other attempts in developing the vaccine.

Genital herpes vaccine abandoned

A major pharmaceutical company has abandoned a genital herpes vaccine it was hoping to develop.

This article spoke about GlaxoSmithKline testing a new vaccine called Simplirix to block the transmission of herpes whether be cold sores (type 1) or genital (type 2). This vaccine was only 20% effective in the clinical trials so this will be discontinued and they will give up on the vaccine.

It went on to say what the difference in herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2 are and where they infect like above. So far there are no other vaccines available to help prevent contracting the herpes virus.

There was more information talking about only 10-25% of the people with genital herpes know they have the virus for the mild symptoms they may have. It can take uptp 2-7 days to have any symptoms but can last between 2 and 4 weeks. Symptoms can be very mild including: itching or tingling sensations around the genitals; small fluid-filled blisters; pain when passing urine; headache or backache and flu-like symptoms as the article stated.

What is genital herpes?

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) or type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years. HSV-1 (Cold sores) and HSV-2 (Genital)

Christine O'Donnell on Rove's 'Un-factual' Remarks and 'Republican Cannibalism'

This article was talking about Christine O’Donnell being the Republican nominee for the Delaware Senate seat spoke back at Karl Rove earlier today for what she was calling“un-factual” accusations about her record.

Christine O’Donnell was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos an anchor for Good Morning America and let everyone know that what Karl Rove was saying was un-factual. Also that he was the political guru who predicted she wasn’t going to win but Christine won big. Christine spoke saying he was trying to restore his reputation but following her win Rove questioned her history of financial troubles. Rove stated on fox News, “Why did she mislead voters about her college education? How come it took nearly two decades to pay her college bills so she could get her college degree? How did she make a living? Why did she sue a well-known…conservative think tank,” Rove also predicted Christine O’Donnell would cost the republicans the GOP Senate seat especially since Castle was expected to win the nomination. Christine O’Donnell had things to say about the nominee the Republican Party was behind was supporting the democrats more than the republican political views.

Christine stated, “There were accusations I had an IRS tax lien which they admitted they made a computer error and they fixed it...I presented all the information to the Republican Party all the documentation and ignored the truth because they have no record to stand on and they are behind someone who they say is the only one who can win but doesn’t stand for anything the Republican Party doesn’t stand on. I want to go to Washington D.C. to let them know what proposals I have to help get more jobs in Delaware and get the economy back on track, and take care of the veterans.”

The former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin came in at the last minute to endorse Christine O’Donnell which made a huge difference. Christine stated, “When Governor Palin stood up and so boldly made a statement that she supported me it allowed them to get past the politics of personal destruction, to look at the message…she helped to bring it back on track.”

Can Tea Party backed candidate Christine hurt the GOP’s chances of winning back the Senate seat even though the Republican Party said they won’t be giving any money to help her Senate bid in November, Jon Karl reported in the morning today.

On Good Morning America Christine called that is ashame the Republican Party isn’t going to help with money. If the cannibalism of the Republican Party were serious about wanting to win the Senate seat then the damage can be repaired to move forward which she put the challenge on them. There was an update in that O’Donnell will get the support from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, according to a statement released by its chairman, Senator John Cornyn.
Senator John Cornyn stated, “I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.”

Reggie Bush's Heisman Forfeited

There is a lot of information surrounding the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner to what he violated or not be considered the Heisman winner of 2005. Reggie Bush has great character and acknowledging he made mistakes and he decided to accept the consequences for those mistakes and forfeit the Heisman Trophy.

The question is whether they as in the Heisman Trophy Trust will ask Vince Young whether he wants the award or not for being runner up. Vince may have been runner up, but was also 900+ votes behind. Reggie Bush was a clear winner without any doubts. Vince Young was asked by a reporter whether he would like to receive the award and he let the people know for one he wasn’t asked and two it has been five years passed and Reggie will always be considered the 2005 Heisman winner.

The performance Reggie Bush presented the people in the 2005 year was nothing but amazing. The fans enjoyed watching him play whether they were fans of USC or not. With the powerful explosions through the line and the spin moves he would do to make someone miss tackles were amazing to watch his performance. Reggie Bush forfeited the Heisman award on Tuesday September 14, 2010 which was surely a difficult task for him to do. The Heisman Trophy is one of those incredible honors football players’ dreams of winning. When one is a college football player there is nothing better than being considered the best college football player of the year. It takes great discipline to be able to win this prestigious award and Reggie was fortunate to be among the greatest college football players ever and he will still be considered the winner whether he has an asterisk or not.

Since, it has been five years the Heisman was given to Reggie Bush and Vince Young was a distant second, the Heisman Trophy Trust did say they weren’t going to be a Heisman winner for the year of 2005 so Vince young or the University of Texas won’t have the opportunity to hold the Heisman Trophy which would be huge for Vince and the college.

Vince Young also stated "I would not want to have it, and don't want the trophy," the Tennessee Titans quarterback said to the reporters on Wednesday. "Like I said, 2005 Reggie Bush is the Heisman Trophy winner. Why would I want it?"

Reggie Bush stated, "One of the greatest honors of my life was winning the Heisman Trophy in 2005." The New Orleans Saints statement said "For me, it was a dream come true. But I know that the Heisman is not mine alone. Far from it. I know that my victory was made possible by the discipline and hard work of my teammates, the steady guidance of my coaches, the inspiration of the fans, and the unconditional love of my family and friends. And I know that any young man fortunate enough to win the Heisman enters into a family of sorts. Each individual carries the legacy of the award and each one is entrusted with its good name.

Reggie also said, "It is for these reasons that I have made the difficult decision to forfeit my title as Heisman winner of 2005." There were some heavy sanctions the NCAA has passed down on USC for the relation of the improper benefits received by two players which was a football player Reggie Bush and for a Basketball player named O.J. Mayo.

There could have been two different approaches that could have happened. First, Reggie could return the trophy for not being eligible like he did or second the Heisman Trophy Trust could strip Reggie of the trophy. This was the first time the Heisman Trophy has ever been returned in college football history. Reggie will now be considered for forfeiting the trophy which looks better than him being stripped of the trophy. This Heisman trophy is an award that has high expectations and compliance with the NCAA rules to even be eligible to be voted for the award.

The former college coach of Reggie Bush, Pete Carroll stated on Wednesday, "Reggie's got to do what he's got to do on this stuff and make his determination,” and "I support whatever he's doing. I'm sure he's figured it out and he's living it. I'm not really focused on it. There's nothing I can really do about that," the new Seattle Seahawks coach added. "All of our attention is on Denver and getting ready for the game. I wish him the best and hope they figure it all out."
